Of course we'll close Gitmo

...when we're done with it. You see, this is the danger that administration critics continually fall into. They spend all their time coming up with little criticisms of every little thing. Then the President says "We'll close Guantanamo Bay...someday", clarifies why it's there for now, and shows in general what a trifle the entire thing really is.

WMD Found in Iraq

This is worth knowing about (from Conservative Voice), although it's not in the style of the Bush administration to trumpet something like this. Everyone knew where were WMD in Iraq anyway, so in a sense, parading this would be perceived as following the corrupted dialogue further rather than making a much-needed correction, IMO.

Ann Coulter & Missing the Elephant

This story is about 2 weeks old, the supposed "widow-bashing" flap. But Coulter was on Medved today and they were talking about how funny it seems that she is being attacked for something so comparatively small. Indeed, it's relatively tiny compared to the major theme of liberals being atheistic, communist bullies who regard abortion and other aberrant behaviors as sacraments.

The normal angry types called in and accused Coulter of being glamorous, attractive, a liar -- blah, blah, blah. But it was fun listening to Michael and Ann tag-teaming and playing off each other since they're both so damned funny.

Prager on the left's fear of G. W.

No, "G. W." isn't George W. (Bush), it's Global Warming. Prager has a thought provoking piece on Townhall.com about "Why liberals fear global warming far more than conservatives do".

He presents 6 likely explanations, here's my favorite:
The Left is prone to hysteria. The belief that global warming will destroy
the world is but one of many hysterical notions held on the Left. As noted in a
previous column devoted to the Left and hysteria, many on the Left have been
hysterical about the dangers of the PATRIOT Act and the NSA surveillance of
phone numbers (incipient fascism); secondhand smoke (killing vast numbers of
people); drilling in the remotest area of Alaska (major environmental
despoliation); and opposition to same-sex marriage (imminent Christian
theocracy).

Campos Heap

Paul Campos was silly enough to write this insinuation piece on war crimes then he was dumb enough to go on Hugh Hewitt's show. Hewitt dissected him, of course, check it out here.

Hugh's show is really unique -- he's incredibly quick during interviews and a lot of them get transcripted at Radio Blogger.

Marriage amendment: 52 = Pickup

The prediction is that 52 Senators will vote "yea" for the Federal Marriage Amendment, that's a pick-up of 4 from the last vote in 2004.

Also had to check to see if La Shawn had blogged on this topic today. Sure enough, she had and no punches were pulled by her.
