Prager: "Everything else is commentary"

Great article from Townhall.com. The King of Clarity strikes again.

Dayton Daily News exposes more silliness

Short memories go a long way. The article points out that Secretaries of State have run for other offices in the past. This is based on the unproven but often repeated charge that the "Republicans stole the 2004 election in Ohio" by left activists. Yawn.

Ed Herman nails the problem with "institutional" candidates

Herman sums it up:
The problem with Strickland - and with institutional Democrats AND Republicans - is that he does not recognize that much of the way Ohio spends money is through obsolete means. Since Truman's Fair Deal and Johnson's Great Society, the institutional response to puzzlingly poor social improvement has been to throw more money at problems WITHOUT attempting to rethink the dynamics of the programs. Powerful special interests have arisen around defending the status quo. Groupthink, hysteria and social guilt impede rethinking the way we provide for our citizens.

Medved on the 4th: Anti-American leftists betray their own radical heritage

Great article for the 4th of July. This is why blogger Ruth Ann Adams calls Medved "the mensch":

In other words, the best response to America bashing radicals involves celebration, not castigation – an emphasis on joy, gratitude and pride rather than guilt and despair. Among other things, it’s simply more fun to be a patriotic American than a doom-embracing, “anti-imperialist” internationalist.

Long War Promised -- "The sky will fall"

From MyWay. Excerpt:

"Whether he will be killed or not killed, we will not disclose any information ... Discussion is closed," said Islamic Army spokesman Abu al-Muthana."

But he later said: "We do not kill captives. Our Islam requires that we treat captives well and fairly." He declined to say whether Shalit was alive or dead.
Does anyone else talk/act this way other than Islamic lunatics?

Osama and Liberal Press Split on Zarqawi

Osama's latest tape refers to the killing of Zarqawi: "Even if we lost one of our greatest knights and princes, we are happy that we have found a symbol for our great Islamic nations...." (Full story from FOXnews.)

This contrasts with the prevalent view of CNN and others that downplay the significance of taking out this terrorist. My favorite mantra of the liberal press is that Zarqawi's removal is "largely symbolic". As if there was nothing important about symbols. Osama bin Laden knows better -- he rejoices that "we have found a symbol." I'm glad the symbol he is rejoicing in is a dead one.
