New Film: Indoctrinate U

Hat tip to Stanley Kurtz who got to screen it and has a great review over at the corner.

I remember seeing pieces of this several years ago. One of the film-makers was on the Medved show at the time and the working title was something 101. To support the film, go to this web-site. Rocking soundtrack, I have to say.

Newspaper Circulation Drops Again

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070430/newspapers_circulation_list.html?.v=1

If you want any further proof of the decline of the Liberal MSM than read the following drops in circulation of these newspapers

"4. Los Angeles Times, 815,723, down 4.2 percent
5. New York Post, 724,748, up 7.6 percent
6. New York Daily News, 718,174, up 1.4 percent
7. The Washington Post, 699,130, down 3.5 percent
8. Chicago Tribune, 566,827, down 2.1 percent
9. Houston Chronicle, 503,114, down 2 percent
10. The Arizona Republic, 433,731, down 1.1 percent
11. Dallas Morning News, 411,919, down 14.3 percent"

Why do you think this is? Maybe it is because it seems they just make up their stories as they go? Perhaps it is because they have the ideological diversity of the Soviet Pravda or some Nazi rag? What do you think? Email me or post them to my blog.

Whence Sheryl Crow?

Diane points to a really informative article about declining newspaper circulation. Bad news for those in the old time news industrial complex.

This should be good news to Sheryl Crow:
Crow, 45, writes, 'Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating.

'I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting.'

She writes, 'Now, I don't want to rob any law-abiding American of his or her God-given rights, but I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where two to three could be required.'

She should be ecstatic. Do the math, geometry geniuses! My rough estimate is that one newpaper has got to be equal to tens of thousands of TP squares. Even if only one daily is delivered to a family of, say, 12 people -- and be honest, how many people are there with 10 kids who have time to read a paper -- the pulp consumption doesn't even come close. Even when everyone in aforesaid family has got the runs.

But seriously. My guess is that Sheryl will be eating crow for these comments for quite some time, maybe for the rest of her life. And to think that this comes from the rock star who once had a hit which preached "I'm gonna tell everyone to lighten up."

A Right Denied Editorial

Today's editorial came out against the Supreme Court's ruling against Partial Birth Abortion. Here is a quote from the editorial
"Justice Kennedy said: "Government has a legitimate and substantial interest in preserving and promoting fetal life." Sounds like slippery-slope language. A slide toward the overturn of Roe vs. Wade is a thought every bit as chilling as images of partial-birth abortion."

According to their point of view this attempt to prohibit a procedure as barbaric as Partrial birth Abortions is as chilling as the images of partial birth abortion? Right? Wrong! Where do you this editorial came from? Planned Parenthood for America, NARAL or NOW. None of the above! It came from the Dallas Morning News. Home of Mr. Crunchy Con himself, Rod Dreher.
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/opinion/editorials/stories/DN-abortion_24edi.ART.State.Edition1.4286e68.html

Now I may not have a book published as Mr. Dreher does nor occupy his paper's mantle as the token Conservative but how does writing an editorial like this promote Conservatism? Anybody have any thoughts or ideas. Email me or post them to my blog.

Soldier's Letter: Why Don't We Honor Our Fallen Servicemembers?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,267872,00.html

Sgt. Jim Wilt wrote an interesting post on why we do not honor our fallen soldiers in the same way as we do those victims at Virginia Tech. Here is the money quote from his column.

"The U.S. flag is more than a piece of cloth. It is a symbol, a symbol which represents the people of America.
Hundreds of thousands of men and women have died under our flag, preserving its people.
When we honor the flag by saluting it, we are honoring what it stands for. We honor freedom, the people it represents and a way of life.
Isn't it time our flag saluted back when a person makes the ultimate sacrifice? Shouldn't the flag, which represents our society, tip its hat when someone dies to ensure it will fly another day?
If the flags on our FOBs were lowered for just one day after the death of a servicemember, it would show the people who knew the person that society cared, the American people care."

My thoughts exactly! What do you think? email me or post your responses to my blog.

Terry Moran says don't feel to sorry for Duke Players

ABC News reporter, Terry Moran wrote a piece on the ABC blog about how we should not feel to sorry for those Duke Lacrosse Players falsely accused of raping the African-American stripper in Durham, North Carolina.
Here is a quote from the newsbusters blog about this:

"As students of Duke University or other elite institutions, these young men will get on with their privileged lives. There is a very large cushion under them--the one that softens the blows of life for most of those who go to Duke or similar places, and have connections through family, friends and school to all kinds of prospects for success. They are very differently situated in life from, say, the young women of the Rutgers University women's basketball team.
Yeah, that's right. Being charged with rape despite a lack of DNA evidence and a constantly-changing story by the alleged victim is far less traumatizing than some knucklehead with a radio show calling you and your teammates "nappy-headed hos."
http://newsbusters.org/node/12002

Yet many in the MSM wonder why ordinary people view them they way they do "Used-Car Salesmen or Ambulance chasers."

Holy Trinity Parishoners call for Fr. Katinas to be defrocked

http://orthodoxreform.org/news/holy-trinity-parishioners-call-for-katinas-to-be-defrocked/

Two members of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church have called on the Greek Orthodox Church to defrock Fr. Katinas after he was forced to retire after allegations of sexual impropriaties where revealed to the congregation almost a year after his "retirement."
Here is a quote from the blog:

"We request that Nicholas Katinas be defrocked immediately. Thus concludes this frank and compelling letter from Dean Siotos, Parish Council member, 2006-2007, of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Dallas. Eleven other parishioners joined in signing this communication which went out recently to Patriarch Bartholomew, Archbishop Demetrios, Metropolitan Isaiah and Father Kontogiorgis."

If this had been done at any Catholic parish in Dallas or Fort Worth the news media would be up in arms. What do the media do to ensure objectivity? In the case of Catholic turncoat Rod Dreher they attend conferences in Indiana on Conservatism. Even after gaining stature for opposing Catholic corruption. Go figure.

CATHOLIC BASHERS SPARED IMUS TREATMENT

http://www.catholicleague.org/07press_releases/quarter_2/070411_imus.htm

There is a great post from the Catholic League on the lack of outrage over the bigoted and hateful things done to Catholics by Bill Maher, Penn Jillete and idiot who designed that crappy piece of art "My Sweet Jesus." Imus is rightfully canned by MSNBC for his constant acts of stupidity. The most recent example being his referring to the members of the women's basketball team at Rutgers as, "Nappy H***** ***." Yet nothing is done to the previously mentioned 3 stooges. Go figure. What are your thoughts. email me or post them to my blog.

Baghdad Broadcasting Corporation

The BBC is refusing to air a movie about Johnso Beharry a Private with the Princess of Wales Regiment. Private Beharry is the youngest surviving recepient of the Victoria Cross. This is the English Equivalent of the Congressional Medal of Honor. Do you know what their stated reason was? It was because his story was "too positive for them and might alienate those opposed to the war. Yet they wonder why we call them the Baghdad Broadcasting Corporation! What are your thoughts? Email me or post them to my blog.

Birkhead's Lawyer Charges 600,000 in Legal Fees

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,263584,00.html

Debra Opri, the former attorney of Larry Burkett has charged $600,000 in fees to her client. For those of you who do not know Mr. Burkett is one of the two men who are in court fighting over paternity and custody of Anna Nicole Smith's daughter. Ordinarily this is not a story I would discuss; however, it should be discussed as to what some of these fees were for.

" It was 112 pages. And it was — there were some curious items in there. There were charges to attend Anna Nicole's funeral. There were charges for Debra Opri's publicist, $1,500 a month for three months. There were pretty expensive dinners, in one case totaling over $2,000. There was a dry cleaning bill for Debra Opri's husband in there. And there was travel to and from New York to do a "20/20" interview at 10 hours each, and she was charging around $450 an hour for all of this."

Some of you wonder why Shakespeare wrote:

"The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers". This is from King Henry VI Quote (Act IV, Scene II). What do you think? Email me or post your comments to my blog.
